BRANDING – Your Logo is NOT Your Brand
It still surprises me that so many people believe that the word Brand is synonymous with Logo.
Often when we tell our clients that the first step in our Branding Process is a Brand Discovery. Their response 9 out of 10 times is that they don’t need to do a Brand Discovery because they already have a logo.
That’s when the Brand Coach in me kicks in. After explaining in discovery we uncover their unique business model, their target customer, their brand voice, we learn what makes them stand-out in the marketplace, and what elements are critical to their look and feel. They finally understand that their LOGO is just one small part of their overall Brand Story.
80% of consumers said “authenticity of content” is the most influential factor in their decision to become a follower of a brand.
So in the end, yes how your brand looks is critical to your overall brand message but what you SAY and HOW you say it is the most important element of your Brand.
- Branding is your strategy
- Branding is your calls to action.
- Branding is your customer service
- Branding is the way you speak
- Branding is the whole array of your communication tools
- Branding is your people
- Branding is your visual story that use elements like a logo and images.
